The Consumer Experience is Key to Successful Retail Marketing Tours

A key ingredient to the success of a retail marketing tour is the consumer experience.  What lasting impression do you want to create for your consumer with your brand? The consumer experience is a building block to creating a deep emotional connection with your brand for life-long relationships.  Check out our article, Study Shows Consumers Value Brand Experiences.
While keeping in mind your goals/objectives for your retail tour, begin building the customer experience.   Here are is a list of questions to ask yourself as you begin this process:

  • Should the experience be inside the retail location or on the parking lot?
  • If inside…
    • Do we set-up next to our product?
    • Do we set-up next to the entrance/exit?
    • Is the display a small table with signage or a larger footprint?
    • Does the demographic of the Brand Ambassador match the demographic of your target consumer?
    • Can we hand out free samples?
    • Should we distribute coupons to incent purchase?
    • What will attract the consumer attention to our event?
  • If outside…
    • Where are we set-up in the parking lot? Hint…. the best location is usually right at the entrance..
    • What does the display look like?  Is this a mobile vehicle tour?  Is it a tent display with tables?
    • How many Brand Ambassadors do you have onsite?
    • Can we hand out free samples?
    • Will we be demonstrating the use of our product?
    • Do we hand out coupons to incent purchase?
    • Should we distribute branded premiums?
    • What other activities are on the footprint?  Games?  Video Monitors?
    • What will attract the consumer attention to our event?
    • How do we bridge indoor sales with parking lot activation?

As you can see, there are many things to consider when developing the consumer experience.  The above are a sampling of what to ask yourself as you enter into your planning process.  Need more thoughts starters? Give us a call!
